Clean Water for Uganda
Bringing Safe Water and Hope to Vulnerable Communities
CLEAN WATER SERVICE
About 75% of all diseases in Uganda result from a lack of clean water and proper sanitation. The most common waterborne diseases include diarrhea, dysentery, typhoid, Bilharzia, and cholera.
For many, the reality of life without clean water is unimaginable—watching children suffer from preventable diseases due to contaminated water sources. Water is essential for life, health, agriculture, and economic prosperity. Yet, in Uganda, many—especially children—face preventable deaths and severe illness due to unsafe water. Dysentery alone claims at least 33 lives daily, with childhood diarrhea causing stunted growth and impairing cognitive development.
In both rural and poor urban areas, thousands of people struggle daily to access clean water. Families are forced to walk miles to fetch water from ponds, polluted rivers, and lakes teeming with disease-causing organisms. The health consequences are devastating, and the time lost in fetching water keeps children out of school and parents from working.
Why Water?
The water crisis is a daily and crippling challenge. Without water, families cannot grow food, build homes, stay healthy, or educate their children. In some areas, 9 out of 9 people lack access to clean water. Schools, already struggling, are further hindered by the absence of proper water and sanitation facilities.
At Calvary Medical Center, we see firsthand the effects of waterborne diseases. The cost of treating preventable illnesses during our Free Medical Camps is significant, and sometimes, it’s too late to save lives.
But the crisis can be solved. To combat this challenge, we launched the Clean Water Project—an initiative providing safe and clean water to vulnerable regions in Uganda, reducing disease, and transforming lives.

We decided to help—and we know you can join us.
