About Us
Who We Are & Our Commitment to Healthcare
Calvary Medical Centre is a nonprofit medical facility located in Kavule, 35km from Kampala. Our mission is to provide free and affordable healthcare to vulnerable communities across Uganda and East Africa, including villages, refugee camps, and slums.
Since our founding in October 2016, we have been operating as a 24-hour medical facility, offering a wide range of essential healthcare services, such as:
Dental care & treatments
Pediatrics
Minor medical services
Mobile outreach clinics & free medical camps
Sexual & reproductive health services
Laboratory services
Specialist medical services (including surgeries, antenatal, and postnatal care)
HIV testing & counseling
Travel medicine & vaccination services
In many rural areas, access to quality healthcare is extremely limited. Some communities lack medical centers entirely, forcing residents to travel long distances for basic treatment. The people of Kavule face significant healthcare challenges, as they must travel at least two hours to find the nearest medical or surgical help. As a result, many preventable diseases and emergencies go untreated, leading to unnecessary suffering and preventable deaths.
Our commitment is to address this gap. Through medical camps and outreach programs, we aim to provide patient-centered, holistic, and compassionate healthcare—especially to the most vulnerable populations. These efforts ensure that even the most remote and underserved communities receive the care they need, without the burden of long travel times and inaccessible services.
By offering services such as dental care, minor surgeries, specialist care, and more, we are working towards a future where everyone, regardless of where they live, can access the healthcare they deserve.
Our Water Project
At Calvary Medical Centre, we are dedicated to providing clean and safe water to communities in need. Our Water Project involves building new wells, rehabilitating neglected water points, protecting springs, and installing sand dams where necessary.
We work closely with local communities to help them determine the best water solutions for their specific needs, guided by expert advice. Over the past two years, we've learned that each community’s geology, climate, and culture plays a significant role in identifying the most sustainable ways to provide water.
Your support helps us mobilize communities, build infrastructure, and provide long-term monitoring to ensure lasting access to clean water.
The Cost
Our commitment is to implement the most appropriate, efficient, and sustainable solutions for each community. Whether it’s catching rainwater, protecting a spring, or repairing an old pump, we ensure that the chosen solution is cost-effective and impactful.
Our teams take a holistic approach to every project and are held accountable for the long-term success of each initiative. Every donation is directly applied to a specific project, and if you’re interested in sponsoring an entire project, we’d love to discuss how you can make a lasting difference.
